Cuttack: An undertrial prisoner undergoing treatment at Cuttack's SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) allegedly escaped by disguising himself as a woman.
Sajan Das, the fugitive, is a resident of the Naugaon area of the Jagatsinghpur district.
According to sources, Das was apprehended by Naugaon police during a loot attempt in the Niali area. He was first imprisoned in Alipingal and then transferred to Choudwar. He had been receiving treatment at the state-run hospital since May 29.
Das requested to use the restroom on Thursday and exited the facility in a saree. Mangalabag police have opened an investigation and launched a manhunt to apprehend the fugitive.
