Bhubaneswar: After a car became stuck in floodwaters close to the railway underpass at Sitaram Chhak in Jatni, the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) on Saturday cancelled the "Mo Bus" service on route No-8.

There were eleven buses running this route between Master Canteen and Jatani.

A video of locals assisting passengers to exit the submerged bus earlier in the day went viral. According to accounts, all of the bus's occupants were saved safely.

Within a few hours of rain, the road in front of Iskcon temples in Nayapalli, Bomikhal, Acharya Vihar, and Rasulgarh also becomes flooded.

Notably, the Met Office has issued an orange alert for isolated regions in Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Malkangiri, Boudh, and Koraput for heavy to very high rainfall (7 to 20 cm) and has warned of waterlogging in low lying areas during this time.
