Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly was informed on Tuesday by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Niranjan Pujari that a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had approved 17 proposals, including the IT Policy 2022 and amendment to the Odisha Mobile Towers, Optical Fibre Cable, and Related Telecom Infrastructure Policy, 2017, among others.

A proposal for the construction of Dharmashala in the Baselisahi neighbourhood of Puri, at a cost of Rs 135.60 crore, has been approved by the Cabinet. Sriji Krupa, who won the contract through a competitive process, will carry out the project under the Augmentation of Basic Amenities & Development of Heritage and Architecture (ABADHA) scheme and finish it in 24 months.

Similar to this, the government of Odisha will give the Ministry of Culture 9.68 acres of land in Khurda free of premium, capitalised value, and incidental costs for the construction of the Paika Bidroha Memorial at the Paika Bidroha battle site in the Barunei foothills.

25% of the total investment will be given to enterprises in order to increase investment and attract job prospects in the IT sector. Additionally, the eligible IT companies would receive a 30% discount on their infrastructure development investment.

The Cabinet also approved the Rs. 149.60 crore tender for the construction of Kansariganda in-stream storage structures across the Rushikulya River near the village of Barada in the Ganjam district. In 36 months, the project is supposed to be finished.

The State Support to MGNREGS scheme was also approved by the Cabinet to stop forced migration in 20 migration-prone blocks spread over Balangir, Bargarh, Kalahandi, and Nuapada districts.

The go-ahead was also given for the submission of tenders for the implementation of massive water supply projects totaling Rs. 1165 crore in the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Jagatsinghpur, and Angul. The project will assist about 35404 people from 129 villages within 15 GPs in 2 blocks in Rayagada.

Similar to this, in the Koraput district, safe drinking water would be made available to 19,372 people in 71 villages under 8 GPs of Kolnara block and 16,032 people in 58 villages under 7 GPs of Ramanguda block.
