Farmers’ body observes Odisha bandh over BJB College girl suicide case
Bhubaneswar: The Naba Nirman Krushak Sanghathan (NNKS) student wing on Tuesday declared a bandh, which has generally been calm. There hasn't been any unfavourable activity recorded from the state as of yet.
In order to demand justice for Ruchika Mohanty, a Plus III first-year student of Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (BJB) Autonomous College in Bhubaneswar who allegedly committed suicide, NKKS has declared a bandh from 6 am to 6 pm. Police discovered a note that suggested seniors were ragging, but neither identities nor any supporting documentation have yet been discovered.
While protesting outside of Secretary (5T) V K Pandian's home early that morning, Ruchika's mother and NNKS activists were imprisoned.
There have been no complaints of delays in the movement of cars or trains as of yet.
Buses from Mo operated normally in Bhubaneswar.
Government facilities in the state capital have increased security. The state administration requested that all employees report to work by 9.30 am due to the bandh.
At Lok Seva Bhawan, Kharavela Bhawan, Rajiv Bhawan, and other government buildings, there is strict security.
