Balangir: According to officials, the Balangir administration in Odisha has terminated the services of four government teachers who obtained jobs by providing false educational certificates.

Sanjit Pani Mahanand, Mrinmayee Panda, Biranchi Prasad Nayak, and Alma Toppo have been identified as the teachers.

While Panda, a Hindi teacher at Randa High School, was apprehended on August 10 after the district education officer (DEO) filed a complaint with the Town police on August 8, the others fled in fear of arrest. Panda's certificates show that she passed two exams in one year, including Hindi teacher training.

They had previously been suspended for alleged forgery.

Following the DEO's dismissal order, police contacted banks and requested that the fake teachers' accounts be frozen.

According to official sources, the Education Department has sent certificates for over 400 teachers in the district for verification.
