Armed miscreants attack, loot Rs 12 lakh from couple in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In the early hours of Sunday, a group of criminals broke into the home of an elderly couple in Haripur Village, which is within the jurisdiction of Chandaka Authorities Station, and fled with Rs 12 lakh in cash and gold jewellery, according to police.
The victim, Satyanarayan Mishra, has reported the incident to the Chandaka police station.
Police sources claim that somewhere about 3 am, the robbers broke a window grill to gain entry into the home and locked the door to the room where the couple was sleeping from the outside. With gold jewellery, Rs. 12 lakh in cash, and other valuables, they fled.
As soon as they were alerted, the police arrived at the scene with a scientific team and a sniffer dog to investigate. The looters were being sought out and tracked down.
