Bhubaneswar wakes up to foggy morning

Bhubaneswar: In the early hours of Tuesday, a heavy fog covered the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, reducing visibility to as little as 50 meters.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar had the highest fog density.

Poor visibility also hampered aviation activity at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), causing IndiGo aircraft from Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi, as well as AirAsia flights from Kolkata and Vistara flights from Mumbai, to arrive late.

Similar meteorological conditions were seen not just in the twin cities, but also in other coastal districts of the state. The weather service also predicted fog in Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Cuttack.

Over the next four days, the nighttime temperature is expected to decrease by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.
