Bhubaneswar: The police uncovered a corps buried near the base of the school stadium in a fresh turn to the disappearance case of Lady Professor Mamita meher of Sunshine English Medium School in Mahaling, Odisha's Kalahandi district.

The police locked up the stadium and suspected Mamita was slain and buried there. The cops were not able to do anything. A dead corpse was uncovered after the earth was digged using a JCB machine. Although the corpse is still uncovered, it was transported to the DNA testing laboratory, police sources added.

The district magistrate, top policemen, scientific team and teacher family members attended the exhumation.

After she recovered from the site a gold chain and anklet, the family of Mamita verified that while leaving the home she had worn a gold chain and a couple of ankles.

Mamita's uncle also stated that on October 9 the police declined to record a missing complaint. "We phoned Govind Sahu and he replied that Dibya Shankar Mishra was the Minister of State, don't worry. The police requested us to assist with the inquiry and not talk publicly about it," he continued.

Since Sahu, who has been jailed after Mamitas family charged him with kidnapping her, was virally kidnapped in a recent role hosted at Sunshine English Medium School by the opposition, the Minister's head has been called upon. He is said to have managed to slip out of the police barracks in the Titalgarh area of Balangir due to his political ties. Sahu is the president of the governing committee of school.

In the meanwhile, a vehicle purportedly registered on his behalf was confiscated by authorities.

On 8 October morning in her home village Jharani, the schoolteacher was allegedly taken away in a coach from Chandatora Chhak in Balangir at the police station of Tureikela. The police are using CCTV films to observe Sahu travelling with Mamita in the car.

The 24-year-old who was a teacher at the English medium school and was also a guard of the school's girls' hostel, and who is part of the hamlet of Jharni in Turekela, Balangir district block.
