Berhampur: Around 600 fishermen were rescued after their boats overturned in a choppy sea caused by Cyclone Asani off the coast of Chhatrapur in Ganjam district.

Sanaryapalli, Bada Aryapalli, and Golabandha fishermen had set out in six mechanized boats to fish in the deep sea. They began returning with a heavy catch of fish after receiving notice of the approaching typhoon.

Their boats were shaken by heavy waves on their trip to the Chhatrapur coast, and their boats capsized along with their fish at Aryapalli. All of the fishermen, though, made it to the shore. The incident resulted in minor injuries to three fisherman.

On Monday, 11 Andhra Pradesh fisherman were rescued from the deep sea near Pati Sonapur after their boat became stranded due to heavy seas. Following the participation of Odisha Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Jena, the Indian Coast Guard carried out the rescue effort.
