Divyang youth attempts suicide in front of District Collector, SP in Berhampur

Berhampur: A physically challenged person who was upset over the excessive delay in responding to his complaint by officials on Monday ingested poison in front of the Collector and SP at a camp for grievances in Digapahandi, in the Ganjam district of Odisha.
Balakrushna Dora, a resident of the hamlet of Patand, was identified as the man. He was taken in an emergency to the MKCG Medical College & Hospital.
According to media sources, the incident occurred while Ganjam Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida and Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M were attending the camp at the conference hall of Digapahandi Block Office.
Despite numerous requests, Dora claims that officials failed to demarcate his land, which was occupied by his neighbour.
In a letter to Governor Ganeshi Lal, Dora allegedly complained that his land had not been demarcated since he had not offered the concerned Revenue Inspector any money (RI).
