Bhubaneswar: On Monday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a chargesheet in a Bhubaneswar court against lady blackmailer Archana Nag, her husband Jagabandhu Chand, and two others in the Odisha honeytrap scam case.

In the district and sessions judge court, the central probe agency submitted the 2241-page preliminary chargesheet in the spectacular sex and extortion case against Archana, Jagabandhu, and their friends Khageswar Patra and Shradhanjali Behera.

According to sources, every evidence gathered thus far, including audio and video records, has been appended to the chargesheet submitted by the ED, which is investigating the financial transactions and money laundering associated with Archana's sextortion operation.

Archana has been listed as the main accused in the chargesheet, along with Jagabandhu, Khageswar, and Shradhanjali, for blackmailing high-profile and powerful people such as political officials, business leaders, and filmmakers.

According to sources, there will be more than 15 witnesses in the honeytrap case that has shocked the state. Those who appeared before the ED and were questioned about the matter will be called as witnesses.

According to them, the primary investigating agency made the audio and video recordings in accordance with the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The ED is looking into Archana and her husband's financial dealings after it was discovered that the couple amassed property worth Rs 30 crore in just four years starting in 2018. The pair was accused of blackmailing wealthy and prominent people and collecting millions of dollars by trapping them in a sex ring.

Khageswar had multiple bank transactions with Archana totaling lakhs of rupees since 2017.

Prior to submitting the chargesheet, ED authorities had recently visited the lady blackmailer's home with valuators to determine the value of the property collected by the accused through illicit methods.

According to sources, ED officials questioned Archana and her husband Jagabandhu about the valuation of their sumptuous mansion in Bhubaneswar's Satya Vihar area, the money spent on the building's beautiful interior, and Archana's fancy cars. After failing to get sufficient replies from the accused, ED officers went to the property to value it.
