Farmer trampled to death by elephant in Dhenkanal village

Dhenkanal: In the Dhenkanal district of Odisha, a farmer was crushed to death by a wild elephant while he was working in a paddy field on Monday.

The event happened in Mundia Sahi, which is under the control of Rasol police station, early in the morning as Panchu Behera, the farmer, was working in his agricultural field, according to sources.

The farmer was attacked and killed by the jumbo, which is said to have wandered into the village from a nearby forest in search of food. His body was found and taken for an autopsy.

After receiving information, representatives of the forest department hurried to the scene and started taking action to support the deceased person's family.

Because elephants routinely enter human settlements in search of food, the villagers were outraged by the incident and requested that the forest service take immediate action to drive the elephants out of the region.
