Heavy rain to occur in Southern Odisha district
Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated on Sunday that heavy rain will fall in southern Odisha districts due to a low pressure region over the Bay of Bengal.
According to an IMD advisory, a low-pressure system has formed over the west-central and adjacent north-west Bay of Bengal off the shores of north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha, with a cyclonic circulation extending up to the mid-troposphere level and tilting southwestwards.
Under its influence, there will be heavy rainfall over the southern districts of the state from July 11 which will continue till July 14.
The districts are Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur. Today, Dharmagarh in Kalahandi district recorded the highest 64 mm rainfall.
