Man arrested after son confesses about father in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: In the Umerkote block of Odisha's Nabarangpur district, a man was detained after his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter admitted to authorities that her father had killed the woman.
Manik Ghosh and Lipika Mandal married seven years ago, according to sources.
They got into a furious argument in May of this year, so a police station in Umerkote received a complaint. After that, Lipika went back to her father's home in Karagaon.
Later in June, Lipika's in-laws persuaded her to go back, and they departed with their daughter for Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, where Ghosh had been offered a position.
According to reports, the kid told authorities her father had choked her mother to death. However, according to media sources, Ghosh said that after Lipika passed out, he accidentally strangled her by placing his finger close to her mouth as she bit it.
For his son-in-law, Lipika's father has demanded the death penalty. Lipika was healthy, according to him, and she did not pass out. He said that it was a deliberate action.
After the post-mortem was completed, her body was given to her father.
A probe into the situation has been opened.
