Odisha MP to head expert panel on National Cadet Corps

Odisha MP to head expert panel on National Cadet Corps

Bhubaneswar: Baijayant Panda, a former BJP vice-president and MP, has been named head of a high-level expert group to overhaul the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

NCC cadets will be empowered to participate more effectively to nation building and national development activities in many areas by the MoD's 15-member committee, which will make recommendations.

The group will also provide recommendations on how to include former NCC cadets in the organization's progress and identify best practises from comparable international youth organisations.

Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is on the committee, as is Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, as well as MPs Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Vinay Sahasrabuddhe.
