ACF Death: Shocking revelation by a former Night Guard adds a new twist to the case.
Paralakhemundi: The death of Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra has taken a new turn thanks to a sensational statement by a former watchman.
Ganga Pradhan, the previous watchman, was hired as a night guard at Paralakhemundi DFO Sangram Keshari Behera's official residence.
On Saturday, Pradhan told a private station that the DFO used to visit the ACF's official residence late at night. However, the DFO fired Pradhan after discovering that the latter was aware of his nightly visits.
Following Pradhan's statement, a private channel reporter went to the DFO's headquarters to get more information. The DFO, on the other hand, urged him to leave his office.
The very irritated DFO stated, "Please leave my office and allow me to do my office business."
The dead ACF's father, Abhiram Mohapatra, responded to the former watchman's testimony by telling the media to ignore the DFO.
“Can you tell me what you want to ask that DFO? He is a dishonest official. He assassinated my son. He fumed, "God will give him exemplary punishment."
On Thursday, a five-member Crime Branch team lead by DSP Gyana Ranjan Mishra questioned Soumya Ranjan's wife Bidyabharati Panda for over seven hours at her home in Gaudagan village in Kaptipada block in Mayurbhanj district.
Bidyabharati answered some of the questions the Crime Branch had asked her, but she remained silent on other others.
The DSP then told the reporters that the Crime Branch team was dissatisfied with Bidyabharati's responses and that she will be questioned again.
