Dhenkanal: On Thursday morning in Dhenkanal, Odisha, a 50-year-old patient died after allegedly jumping off the district headquarters hospital (DHH).

A native of the Parjang area named Duryodhan Nayak has been identified as the dead.

Sources claim that Nayak was checked into the DHH's male medical ward about ten o'clock on Wednesday. Around three in the morning, he allegedly leaped from the fourth storey of the hospital building.

Family members believe that his excessive action may have been motivated by medical malpractice and the lack of a bed.

"My father might have been rescued if there had been enough security measures. Even though there were mattresses available, he was forced to sleep on the floor, according to Pinki Nayak, the deceased's daughter, who spoke to a local television.

She added that he received saline while he was lying on the floor and that no doctor came to check on him. She continued, "We still don't know the reasoning behind his outrageous decision.
