Pradhan slams Odisha Govt, says repeated lies never turn truth

Bhubaneswar: Dharmendra Pradhan, a senior BJP leader and Union Minister, attacked Odisha's BJD government on Tuesday ahead of the Padampur bypoll, accusing it of misleading people on farmers' issues in the Assembly segment by spreading lies.

The Union Education Minister stated that the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD, which has been in power in the state for over 22 years, can no longer mislead the public and that people have come to know the truth and recognise the true character of the ruling party.

“Lies never become truth if told repeatedly. People cannot be cheated kept in dark for a long time,” he told reporters.

The senior BJP leader from Odisha claimed that the state administration lied to the people of bypoll-bound Padampur in Bargarh district in order to get their support in the by-election.

Dharmendra slammed the BJD administration for its announcement about input subsidies, demanding to know when the state government declared drought and how many Padampur farmers are receiving the subsidies.

In addition to requesting that the state government provide detailed information about farmers receiving input subsidies, he suggested that the BJD government make public bank transactions of farmers who have received the subsidies.

Dharmendra also alleged that farmers in Odisha were denied of crop insurance due to the state government's ineptitude and neglect, which he said made false promises when people protested against it.

Lashing out at the BJD government over worker migration in Padampur, the senior BJP leader said youths in the area are forced to travel to the states to earn a living since the state government is inefficient.

He claims that farmers' concerns and unemployment are among the key challenges in the assembly constituency, but the ruling party is contesting elections by utilising government machinery.

"BJD cannot continue to mislead the public." "The people of Padampur would respond appropriately to the ruling party this time since they have come to know its true character," Dharmendra predicted.
