Bhubaneswar: Ganeshi Lal, the Governor and Chancellor of Universities, has named Prof Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal as Vice Chancellor of Odisha University of Technology and Research, Bhubaneswar, for a four-year term.
He is currently the director of the National Institute of Technology, Meghalaya (NIT-Meghalaya).
Biswal received his PhD from Jadavpur University. His areas of expertise include Production Engineering (FMS, Robotics, Mechatronics, CIM, CAD/CAM), Optimization Techniques in Production Engineering, Product Design, Rapid Product Development, and Quality Engineering.
Prior to joining NIT-Meghalaya, he worked at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (2004-2017) and VSSUT, Burla (1992-2004).
The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology presented him with the "Educational Leadership Award" last year (KIIT). Previously, he received the KTK Remarkable Achievers and Education Foundation's "Bharat Shiksha Gaurav Puraskar" for his outstanding performances and services in the field of education.
