Quintuple Murder Case: Accused Remanded For 3 Days By Mahanga Police

Bhubaneswar: Mahanga police put the accused Siba Sahu into custody for three days on Thursday, a day after the heinous quintuple murder in Odisha's Cuttack district.

According to sources, the crime scene will be recreated. Police are also eager to learn how a single individual was able to kill five people in a single room.

The accused was accused of murdering his brother and his family over a long-running land dispute. Alekh Sahu (46), his wife Rashmi Rekha (41) and their children Smruti Sandhya (19) and Smruti Sai (18) and Smruti Saurav (16) were discovered in a pool of blood.

It's difficult for police and people, even Alekh's in-laws, to accept that the killings were committed by just one individual. Even though Alekh's children were adults, his in-laws speculated that there may have been some resistance from the family members while Siba was attempting to kill them. During the three-day remand period, police will investigate all aspects of the murder.

During preliminary interrogation, the accused allegedly told police that after killing the 5 members, he slashed the veins in their hands and ankles to ensure that they did not survive and bleed to death.
