Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, Odisha Vigilance agents apprehended Revenue Inspector (RI) Satyanarayan Kaudi, who is assigned to Gochhara in the Kuchinda block of Sambalpur district, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
According to sources, the RI sought illegal gratification in exchange for submitting an inquiry report of a land in a mutation case to the Kuchinda tehsildar for the issuance of ROR (Patta) in favor of the complainant.
Following the trap, three locations are being searched at the same time, with the suspicion that Kaudi has accumulated assets that are disproportionate to his known sources of income.
A case has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, and further investigation is underway.
