Bhubaneswar: After Diwali, classroom teaching for pupils in grades I through VII is likely to resume.

Samir Ranjan Dash, the Minister of School and Mass Education, told the media on Sunday that no decision has been made yet, but that pupils in these classes may attend school in physical mode after Diwali.

Given the low chance of COVID-19's third wave in Odisha, all options for reopening schools for classes I to VII are being considered, he added.

Classes are being reopened in a phased basis, according to Dash, and physical style teaching is continuing for classes VIII through XII. “We are hopeful that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would make a decision on the reopening of schools after Diwali at any time,” he added.

Classroom instruction for Class XI and VII commenced on October 21 and October 25, respectively, in 2021. Classes for pupils in grades X and XII began on July 26, 2021.
