Youth Kisses Cobra; Hospitalized In Critical Condition in Nabarangpur
Nabarangpur: In the Naranagpur area of Odisha, a young man was hospitalised after trying to kiss a cobra while intoxicated.
The snake was discovered by the young man, Madhab Gauda, who is from the Dabugaon police district's Patri village and was exploring a nearby hamlet called Jambaguda's woodland. Madhab, who was barely conscious, decided to play with the poisonous snake and grabbed its tail.
Later, as a bravado display on the main road, he brought the snake to his hamlet and began to play with it. He began dancing with the serpent emanating from his snake as the folks gathered there. The locals warned him to release the snake because it was extremely venomous, but he disregarded their advice and carried on playing spiritedly.
The cobra bit him on the lips as he cradled it and gave it a kiss. He continued to hold the snake even though he began to bleed from the lips. In the meantime, a villager offered Madhab Rs. 50 in exchange for releasing the snake.
Madhab lured the cobra to the forest to be released with the promise of money. He attempted to stamp his bravado because he was still not happy with it. The cobra then attacked Madhab once more, this time on his feet.
The people phoned an ambulance and took Madhab to a hospital in Papadahandi as he passed out. Later, he was taken to the Nabarangpur district hospital. It was reported that his status was stable.
