On Monday, Odisha Vigilance sleuths apprehended a Revenue Inspector (RI) and another person for allegedly accepting a Rs 20,000 bribe from a man in exchange for submitting a favorable report in a land inquiry matter in Bargarh district.

Bargarh: On Monday, Odisha Vigilance sleuths apprehended a Revenue Inspector (RI) and another person for allegedly accepting a Rs 20,000 bribe from a man in exchange for submitting a favorable report in a land inquiry matter in Bargarh district.

According to a vigilance release, the accused RI, Dambarudhar Seth, is posted at Jamseth in Paikmal, and the other person is Bibekananda Majhi.

The two were caught demanding and accepting Rs 20,000 for the submission of an investigation report to the Tehsildar of Paikmal in favor of the complainant and his father in a land dispute.

According to the report, the entire bribe amount was recovered and seized from the accused Majhi's possession.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are being conducted at two of Seth's locations from the Disproportionate Assets angle.

A case has been filed, and further investigation is underway against both of the accused.
