Contractor shot dead in Khordha village

Bhubaneswar: Unidentified miscreants allegedly shot and killed a contractor in Odisha's Khurda district's Tangi area. The incident occurred late Sunday night at Chandeswar Square, which is under the jurisdiction of Tangi police station.

Ramesh Rout, a Radhamohanpur resident, has been identified as the deceased.

According to sources, Ramesh and two of his friends were on their way to work when two miscreants on motorcycles intercepted them and opened fire on Ramesh, who died on the spot.

After committing the crime, the assailants fled the scene.

Police officers rushed to the scene and launched a manhunt to apprehend the miscreants. The motive for the killing has yet to be determined. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Meanwhile, the deceased's family has demanded that the incident be thoroughly investigated.
