Balasore: After a fire started at Fakir Mohan Medical College & Hospital (MCH) in Balasore, Odisha, on Monday morning, patients and their caregivers became terrified.
According to sources, a suspected short circuit brought on by overloading occurred in an AC compressor outside the medicine unit on the first floor, where the fire started. As the smoke crept throughout the ward, terrified patients and staff members were observed fleeing the hospital while holding saline bottles.
After receiving a report at 9.28 am, two units from the Fire Service Department quickly arrived and extinguished the fires. The incident did not result in any casualties. Later, sources said, the patients were taken back to the ward.
