Nayagarh: Police have arrested two people for allegedly stealing a gold chain from former IIC of Nayagarh Sadar police station Manorma Mallick while she was returning home on Sunday.
Sampad Das and Kalia Raul, both residents of Khurda, have been arrested. Four gold chains and a two-wheeler used in the snatching incident were taken from them.
A case was filed, and the accused were identified using CCTV footage, after which a team led by IIC Nayagarh conducted raids and apprehended the pair. "More than 20 criminal cases have been registered against the accused persons in various police stations in Khurda and under Commissionerate Police," said Snehasish Sahu, SDPO of Nayagarh.
