Sambalpur: Late Tuesday, a man allegedly opened fire on his estranged wife's lover in Jhankarpada village under Charmal police limits in Odisha's Sambalpur district.
According to sources, Swadhin Pradhan's wife Mira eloped with her lover Pankaj Dehuri a few years ago and was living with him at the time. When Swadhin saw Pankaj and the woman in the village last night, he lost his cool and fired three to four rounds of bullets from a homemade gun.
Pankaj, who suffered critical bullet wounds to his hands and abdomen, was taken to VIMSAR in Burla for treatment before being transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition worsened.
Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt for nab Swadhin, who fled the scene of the crime.
