Rayagda: Maoists wreaked new havoc in Odisha by ransacking property and torching nine vehicles at a crusher unit in the Muniguda area of Rayagada district.

The incident reportedly occurred late Friday night near Deokupali, under the jurisdiction of Muniguda police station.

According to preliminary reports, a group of armed ultras, including some female cadres, stormed the crusher unit and set fire to two poclain machines, five Hyvas, and two loaders.

Following the act, the red rebels left behind posters claiming to have destroyed the crusher units, which were causing pollution in the area and damaging roads.

The Maoists have also accused the crusher unit owner of exploiting the laborers and have threatened other crusher units with similar action if such practices continue.

Following the incident, police officers rushed to the scene to conduct an investigation. More information is awaited.
