Ornaments worth lakhs of rupees looted from Khordha Ugratara Temple

Khurda: On Saturday night, unidentified miscreants allegedly stole gold ornaments and other valuables from the Maa Ugratara temple, one of Odisha's Shakti peethas, in Tangi, Khurda district.
The theft was discovered this morning when the priests arrived at the shrine.
The miscreants are suspected of turning off the CCTV cameras before committing the theft. While the exact value of the stolen ornaments is unknown, the donation box at the temple is said to be undamaged.
Police have cordoned off the temple grounds and launched an extensive investigation into the incident.
It is worth noting that the Odisha government included the Ugratara temple in the 5T program for development.
