The Vigilance Department recovered Rs 4.53 lakh in allegedly ill-gotten cash from Debiprasad Mohanty, Superintendent of the Odisha State Warehousing Corporation (OSWC) godown in Nimapara, Puri district, on Friday.

Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance Department recovered Rs 4.53 lakh in allegedly ill-gotten cash from Debiprasad Mohanty, Superintendent of the Odisha State Warehousing Corporation (OSWC) godown in Nimapara, Puri district, on Friday.
He was apprehended by Vigilance officers while waiting for a bus in Nimapara, according to an official release. During a personal search, another Rs 59,610 was discovered from him. Following this, a raid was carried out on his living quarters at Warehouse Colony, Unit 8, Bhubaneswar, during which Rs 1.8 lakh in cash was found. "Mohanty could not account for the cash seized satisfactorily," the report stated.
The total cash recovered, according to the Vigilance, was Rs 4,53,610.
At the moment, three places linked to Mohanty from a disproportionate assets standpoint are being searched at the same time. He is being evaluated in order to determine the source of funds, it added.
