Balasore: On Saturday, an ambulance hit a truck on NH-16 near Dandakali Temple under Khantapada police limits in Odisha's Balasore district, killing the driver and injuring two others.

According to sources, the mishap occurred around 8 a.m. when an ambulance from a private hospital in West Bengal collided with a truck after hitting a road divider. Under the impact of the collision, the truck driver also lost control of the wheels, and the vehicle slammed into a roadside cement godown.

The ambulance driver died on the spot, while the emergency vehicle helper and truck driver suffered serious injuries.

Following notification of the accident, Khantapada police arrived on the scene, rescued the victims, and transported them to the district headquarters hospital.
