Sambalpur: On Wednesday, an LPG cylinder exploded during a firefighting operation in Burla, Odisha's Sambalpur district, injuring four Fire Service personnel severely.

According to sources, the incident occurred in Chownagarpur Bazar, which is under the jurisdiction of the Burla police station, while fire service personnel were engaged in a firefighting operation.

When the firefighters received word of a fire at a tea shop, they rushed to the scene and were attempting to extinguish the flames when the cylinder exploded.

Two of the injured have been transferred to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, while the other two are being treated at the Medical College and Hospital in Burla.

When police were informed, they rushed to the scene and began an investigation. More information is awaited.
