BF.7 Variant In Odisha: AIIMS-Bhubaneswar ED For COVID Appropriate Behaviour
Bhubaneswar: Amid a surge in coronavirus cases in several countries and the discovery of China variant BF.7 in Odisha, Ashutosh Biswas, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, stated on Thursday that people must be cautious and quickly implement COVID-appropriate behavior.
Biswas told reporters that people must closely follow social distance, wear marks in public places, and maintain hygiene if vaccines and herd immunity can provide some protection.
Following a brief respite, he said there has been a rapid spike of COVID cases in various nations, adding that China has always posed a threat and that Indians should remain watchful.
There have been numerous waves of COVID spread, and now a new wave has appeared, which should be considered seriously and all efforts must be made to control its spread, according to Biswas.
"We will have to see how virulent it is," Biswas said of the new strain. All variations, mutations, and so on are not pathogenic. We'll all be on the lookout."
With Odisha reporting the BF.7 form of Omicron, which is thought to be driving the recent rise of cases in China, the state government will conduct a critical COVID management conference at the Lok Seva Bhawan on Friday.
