Bike hits truck at Sakshigopal; Lady Constable among 2 die, son critical

Puri: Tuesday near Sakshigopal in the Puri district of Odisha, two people, including a female police officer, were murdered when a motorcycle they were riding collided with a truck.

The three were reportedly travelling towards Sakhigopal after attending a funeral in Swargadwar in Puri in the afternoon when their bike collided with a truck carrying fertiliser on the Puri-Bhubaneswar Jagannath Sadak, instantly killing two people.

Sushama Mishra, a 42-year-old police constable, and Suryakanta Sahu were named as the deceased. The incident left Sushama's son badly injured. Sushama, who was assigned to Konark, was from the Satyabadi neighbourhood village of Gopalpurpatna.

According to the sources, the injured person was initially taken to Sakshigopal Hospital for treatment before being transferred to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar as his condition worsened.
