Jharsuguda: On Wednesday, police arrested three people and confiscated brown sugar worth Rs 3 lakh from the town's Airport Square.
Jitesh Kumbhar (24), Irshad Khan (30), and Md. Mumtaz were detained (27). For sale in Jharsuguda, brown sugar was supplied from Kolkata and Ranchi.
In addition, police took two KTM motorcycles, Rs 13,000, and a cellphone from their hands.
A police unit raided and detained the three after receiving a tip. All of the defendants were deemed to be repeat offenders who had previously been arrested for theft, extortion, robbery, and attempted murder.
A complaint has been filed.
