Bhubaneswar: On Sunday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik wished former Speaker of the Odisha Assembly Surjya Narayan Patro a swift recovery and good health.
On Saturday, Patro resigned as Speaker of the House. His son Biplab Patro later revealed that his father had a major kidney condition as well as a bacterial infection in his left eye. According to Biplab, Surjya Patro has been receiving treatment at Sum Ultimate Hospital for the past 14 days.
It's worth noting that Patro was one of the first to quit after the Chief Minister urged his whole Cabinet to submit their papers ahead of today's reshuffle and swearing-in.
