Half-day holiday for students in Cuttack for Hockey WC opening ceremony

Cuttack: All government and private educational institutes in Cuttack, which will hold the grand opening ceremony of the Odisha Men's Hockey World Cup at Barabati Stadium on Wednesday, would remain closed after 2 p.m., Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani announced on Tuesday.
The quadrennial event will take place from January 13 to January 29 at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela.
During the opening ceremony, Bollywood celebrities Ranveer Singh and Disha Patani will perform live, as will BLACK SWAN, the famed K-Pop band starring Odisha's Shreya Lenka. Pritam, the writer and composer of the Hockey World Cup 2023 song, will take the stage and enthral the audience alongside vocalists from Odisha including Benny Dayal, Neeti Mohan, Lisa Mishra, Amit Mishra, Antara Mitra, Sreerama Chandra, Nakash Aziz and Shalmali Kholgade, and Namita Meleka.
Odissi guru Aruna Mohanty and National Award winner Shiamak Davar choreographed the dance performances. Many Odia stars and performers will also appear at the event.
