Bargarh: The alleged 'tit for tat' raid politics in Odisha's Padampur continued on Tuesday, with Goods and Services Tax (GST) inspectors conducting searches at the home of a contractor, Pratap Patnaik.
"It was a formal election-related search based on information." Nothing was discovered in the residence," said Ramkrushna Mishra, Additional Tehsildar of Padampur and the magistrate of the flying squad.
According to sources, the crew searched the entire premises for 2 hours after arriving at the house at 9 p.m.
Meanwhile, Pratap's family has expressed concerns about the late-night raid on a home populated by the elderly, women, and children.
Similar raids were conducted two days earlier in Bargarh district at around six locations associated with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and followers. Sunil Agrawal's saree business in Bheunria Chhak, a BJP politician and Padmapur Nagar president, was searched, as were party leaders' petrol pumps and medical stores in Bargarh, Paikmal, and Padampur.
