Bhubaneswar: According to state Health Department data, about one lakh children aged 0 to 18 have been infected with COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

In percentage terms, only 0.68 percent of the state's youngsters have been infected with the virus. The infection rate is 677 per 100,000 children.

COVID infections have been reported in 11.55 lakh people in Odisha thus far.

69,000 children aged 0 to 18 were infected during the Delta-driven second wave, compared to 21,000 during the first wave.

During the third wave, the state is reporting an average of 344 infections per day among youngsters. During the second wave, the figure was 241, and during the first wave, it was 62.

Infections with COVID among children in Odisha in the last four days: 1,061 (Tuesday), 982 (Monday), 1,016 (Sunday), and 1,021 (Wednesday) (Saturday).
