Miscreants Attack Jewellery Store Owner, Daughter During Loot In Berhampur

Berhampur: At 8 p.m. on Thursday night, miscreants attacked a jewelry store owner and his daughter during a theft at Bazar Sahi in Aska, Odisha's Ganjam district.

According to sources, four masked miscreants appeared on three motorbikes at Mahalakshmi Jewellers P as the owner, Prabhakar Patra, and his daughter were shutting the shop. After they refused to hand over the shop keys, they assaulted both of them with sharp objects.

The shopkeeper and his daughter called 911. Locals hurried to the scene after hearing their cries for aid, but they were unable to apprehend the miscreants.

Later, the store owner filed a complaint with the Aska Police Station, stating that gold jewelry worth lakhs of rupees had been stolen. An investigation into the incident has begun.

Meanwhile, Patra, who suffered serious injuries in the incident, was initially hospitalized to Aska sub-divisional hospital before being transferred to MKCG Medical College & Hospital in Berhampur.
