President Murmu arrives in Bhubaneswar, received by Governor, CM

Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu was greeted by Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as she arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Odisha's capital on Friday. Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister, was also present.

On Friday and Saturday, the President will be in Odisha for two days, attending the second convocation of Rama Devi Women's University and other events in the twin cities.

She arrived in Bhubaneswar and proceeded to Utkal Mandap, where she is scheduled to attend the Jnanaprabha Mission's foundation day this afternoon. Later, she will attend the second convocation of her alma mater, Rama Devi Women's University.

President Murmu graduated from Rama Devi Women's College in 1979. She was awarded an honorary degree at the college's first convocation after it was upgraded to a full-fledged university.

She will also spend the night at Raj Bhavan and inaugurate a banquet hall at the Governor's residence.

On the second day, she will pay obeisance to the Lord at Lingaraj Temple before attending a program at the National Rice Research Institute (NRRI) Cuttack before returning to Delhi.

This is her second visit to the state since being sworn in as India's President in July 2022.
