Python Rescued From Farm After It Feasts On Hens In Baripada

Baripada: On Sunday, a massive python that had been consuming birds in a poultry farm was caught in Mayurbhanj, Odisha.

Sources claim that when the farmer in Radho hamlet, in the district's Kaptipada forest range, went to feed the hens, he discovered several of them dead. He found the snake after conducting a thorough search within the netted building.

Members of the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) responded after receiving a call from the farm owner and went to the scene to save the snake. They examined the snake, which they identified as a python. The healthy, 8-foot-long python was discovered to be in good condition.

The python may have entered the farm on Saturday night after travelling there on the scent of poultry, according to Dr. Manjit of WTI. It has already attacked and eaten three to four birds.

The WTI team later transported the saved python to a nearby forest where it was released.
