Three minors critical after falling into molten tar container in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Three youngsters fell into a hot tar container that was left open in the district on Sunday due to suspected negligence on the part of a road construction contractor.
The event occurred in the morning in Kankana village, Bamebari police boundaries, where the children were playing. The contractor and labourers, who were working in the village on road construction, had left the molten tar tanks open overnight.
Initially, two children unintentionally fell inside the container. Locals said that while trying to save them, another youngster fell into the molten tar.
When the townspeople learned of it, they raced to the scene and, with great difficulty, dragged the youngsters out using kerosene. The children were sent to a local hospital because the tar had stuck to their bodies.
The villagers, on the other hand, claimed that the container was not protected by the responsible contractor, resulting in the catastrophe.
