Trailer truck falls off bridge at Bhimkhoj, driver rescued after 9 hours

Sambalpur: After nearly nine hours, the driver of a trailer truck carrying steel was found in Bhimkhoj, which is within the jurisdiction of Jujumura police in the Sambalpur district of Odisha.
The trailer truck apparently plunged into the water body when the driver, identified as Janardhan Tiwari from Uttar Pradesh, reportedly lost control of the vehicle while crossing a bridge at Bhimkhoj about 10 am. He was left trapped in the vehicle's cabin with only his head above the water. He was travelling along NH-55 from Angul to Sambalpur.
The driver was saved by the fire department by cutting the vehicle with the use of a spreader, cutter, and plasma cutter. The driver was then taken to VIMSAR, Burla, with minor injuries, according to sources.
