Umerkote Addl IIC Caught Taking 20k Bribe, Arrested

Nabarangpur: The Additional Inspector In Charge (Addl IIC) of the Umerkote police station in the Nabarangpur district of Odisha was apprehended late Sunday night while reportedly receiving a Rs 20,000 bribe, according to Vigilance officers.
Addl IIC Limaraj Pradhan allegedly asked for a bribe in order to be exonerated in a case involving a family dispute.
Pradhan allegedly requested the individual to bring the cash to the police station after 10 p.m. He proceeded to a remote area outside the police station to collect the bribe, but he did it in order to avoid being seen on CCTV cameras. He attempted to hide in some nearby bushes after spotting the Vigilance officers, but was apprehended after being outmatched.
