The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for five districts, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in Odisha, until 2.45 p.m. on Saturday.

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for five districts, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in Odisha, until 2.45 p.m. on Saturday.

In the next 2-3 hours, Khurda, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, and Nayagarh can expect moderate rain or thundershowers with one or two spells of intense rainfall. People have been advised to monitor the weather and move to safer locations as needed to avoid being struck by lightning.

The Met Office issued a yellow warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) very likely at one or two locations in Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj on Saturday, with monsoon covering the entire state.

During this period, heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is expected in one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Angul, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Sundargarh, according to the Friday bulletin.

Odisha is also expected to experience heavy rain, with an orange warning issued for some western districts on June 25 and 26.
