Rourkela: After failing to pay a drug peddler, an addict allegedly allowed the latter to rape his wife in Odisha's Rourkela city for more than two months.
Afroz Akhtar (38) and Danish Hussain (29), the accused husband, drug peddler, and driver, were arrested in this connection on Saturday night.
According to police sources, the accused was a regular purchaser of drugs from the peddler. The accused had an argument with the peddler two months ago after he failed to pay for the drugs. He then forced his 27-year-old wife to have a physical relationship with the peddler in exchange for money to buy drugs.
The woman fled to her parents' house a few days ago. Her husband and the peddler paid her a visit on Friday, and they managed to persuade her to join them in a car. When their car reached Nallah Road, the woman escaped and told the Plant Site police station about her ordeal, which led to the arrests.
