Odisha Govt presents ₹2.30L Cr budget for 2023-24

In the presence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Odisha Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari presented the 2023-24 State Budget of Rs 2,30,000 crore in the State Assembly.

Bhubaneswar: In the presence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Odisha Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari presented the 2023-24 State Budget of Rs 2,30,000 crore in the State Assembly.

Pujari announced a revolving fund of Rs 2,000 crore for paddy procurement, a KALIA scheme outlay of Rs 1879 crore, and a State agriculture outlay of Rs 24,829 crore.


In Budget 2023-24, the Finance Minister also announced Rs 16,048 crore for the health and family welfare department. It has been increased by 27% since 2022-23.

  • Agriculture: Rs 24,829-crore (21% increase)
  • Health: Rs 16,048-crore (27% increase)
  • Education & skill: Rs 30,030-crore (10% increase)
  • Mission Shakti & WCD: Rs 6224-crore (12% increase)
  • Disaster Risk Management: Rs 3700 crore
  • Agriculture: Rs 24,829-crore (21% increase)
  • Health: Rs 16,048-crore (27% increase)
  • Education & skill: Rs 30,030-crore (10% increase)
  • Mission Shakti & WCD: Rs 6224-crore (12% increase)
  • Disaster Risk Management: Rs 3700 crore

  • SC & ST development: 38,437 Crore (18% increase)
  • Tourism: Rs 680 Crore (15% increase)
  • Development of Sports: Rs 1,217 Crore (34% increase)

  • Handloom, Textiles & Handicrafts: Rs 219 crore (8% increase)
  • Internal Security and justice: Rs 8,130 Crore (8% increase)
  • Transfer to Local Bodies: Rs 7300 crore
  • Piped water: Rs 13,215 Crore (58% increase)
  • Roads, Bridges, Airports and Railways: Rs 19,452 Crore (34% increase)
  • Urban Development: Rs 7,914 Crore (9% increase)
  • Industries and MSME: Rs 1,358 Crore (7% increase)
