Senior assistant at Khariar DFO caught red-handed taking ₹20K bribe
Sanjaya Kumar Bag, a senior assistant in the DFO Territorial office in Khariar Forest Division of Odisha's Nuapada district, was apprehended on Wednesday by Vigilance sleuths while allegedly accepting a Rs 20,000 bribe.
Bhubaneswar: Sanjaya Kumar Bag, a senior assistant in the DFO Territorial office in Khariar Forest Division of Odisha's Nuapada district, was apprehended on Wednesday by Vigilance sleuths while allegedly accepting a Rs 20,000 bribe.
He allegedly sought illegal gratification in order to process pension paper documents and facilitate the release of retirement benefits in favor of the complainant's sister, who retired voluntarily in 2022. According to an official release, the entire bribe money was seized from his possession.
While a case has been filed at the Koraput Vigilance Police Station under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, simultaneous searches are being conducted at two locations related to Bag from the disproportionate asset (DA) angle, according to the release.
